Day 39—Wed—7/22: Drive from Lake Louise along scenic Bow Valley Parkway to Canmore and then Banff

We left Lake Louise today and drove southeast towards Banff along the scenic Bow Valley Parkway.  This is a beautiful rode that often has much wildlife along it.  We saw no animals but tremendous mountain and forest views.  We drove past Banff 10 minutes to Canmore and took care of business:  4 loads of laundry, grocery and wine shopping, haircuts for Ryan and Sam and even looking for a used mountain bike for Ryan.  Once we got to our camp in Banff, we rode our bikes in the campground and grilled salmon, portobello mushrooms, and zucchini outside under the beautiful Rundle Mountain.

The snow cornice on top of the ridge is over 500 feet thick!  Views along highway between Lake Louise and Banff.
